

The University of Redlands has been collecting and archiving data on the Salton Sea since 1998, leading a cooperative effort involving dozens of organizations, public agencies, and researchers. The University's Salton Sea Database Program (SSDP) is now considered a foremost source for geospatial data, bibliographic references, and other information about the Sea and its environment.

The GIS collection comprises nearly 150 vector and raster data sets as ESRI format shapefiles and e00 files as well as links to other external sources of GIS data related to the Salton Sea.
