Salton Sea Data CD
The Salton Sea Database Program GIS inventory consists of approximately 167 data sets obtained originally as both ESRI shape files and Arc Info coverages. Many of these original tile coverages were appended together, then clipped, to create a single file covering the SSDP study area. These data sets have now been transferred into an ArcSDE spatial database. The Salton Sea Data CD includes 126 of these GIS shapefiles as well as 5 elevation related products, 1 Landsat 7 Image, and 135 USGS DRG’s (Digital Raster Graphics – scanned topo maps)

Salton Sea Imagery CD
The Salton Sea Imagery CD contains 500 USGS DOQQ’s (Digital Ortho Quarter Quads) and a grid index for easy identification. These images are compressed using LizardTech’s Mr SID compression technology. The standard DOQ’s produced by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) are either grayscale or color-infrared (CIR) images with a 1-meter ground resolution; they cover an area measuring 3.75- minutes longitude by 3.75-minutes latitude, or approximately 5 miles on each side.
